You Are Not Your Job
Something has been sticking in my craw ever since I returned to college in 2004. This whole notion that some people have; with their twisted ideas concerning what having “class” entails, is very disturbing. Some people believe that where they received their education, where they work, how much they earn, where they live and what other tangible material possessions makes them superior to others — and ultimately, makes them who they are in full.
When you socialize at mixers or parties or meet peoples’ friends for the first time, all you ever hear from some of them is the job this, their job that, how much money they make, blah blah blah.
