2011-2012 NBA All-Flop Team
Flopping has become synonymous with NBA basketball, sadly. There are blatant floppers such as Reggie Evans (Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvQM5VYJokw), there are guys who verbally flop (Examples: Pau Gasol, Glen Davis) and guys who either flop exclusively on offense or defense, or worse yet — BOTH ENDS of the court (Example: Chris Paul — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znAA4mLU0II — just one of MANY examples). As such, I am rolling out the 2011-2012 NBA All-Flor Teams.
ENTIRE TEAMS make flopping an art form. The Clippers, Heat, Spurs and Celtics flop more between them than the other 26 teams in the NBA combined.
GUARD — Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers.
Paul likes to do spinning tops all over the floor in order to “sell” calls. Worse yet, he flops the same way on both ends. This, coming from a guy who unapologetically punched a guy in the balls during a college basketball game because he was frustrated by the play of North Carolina State.
GUARD — Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat.
I used to respect Wade until about 2006, when he really began flopping. Now it is out of control. I just have no words nor respect for this cat anymore.
FORWARD — Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers.
This is the same guy who throws down dunks with ferocity (while pushing off nearly every time, with no call against him), bodies up guys while snatching rebounds, but somehow flies into the stands without being touched at least once a game and nosediving to the floor offensively when his one or two basic moves do not get him past the man defending him. And this guy is an All-Star? LaMarcus Aldridge probably has heart problems and agita BECAUSE of this dude getting the nod solely because of dunks and nothing else.

FORWARD — Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics.
Celtics fans have had most of the evidence from this season removed, but that’s fine, I’ve seen those games with my own two eyes. I’ll have to resort to rehashing old games, which is why Pierce is perennially on the All-Flop Team. Whether he’s throwing his head back when no one touches him on screens, or pushing off a defender (the only way he can create space with his slow pivot moves) and falling backward — and hitting the floor if the shot doesn’t go in, usually resulting in a foul in his favor, or THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J_ZA_KdcnE, Pierce is just ridiculous. Not to mention The Wheelchair, coming up in the evidence folder.
