2011 NFL Week 16 Powre Rankings
Two weeks left, Powre Rankings reflect the teams’ standings and playoff chances, at this point (aside from head to head losses amongst the Top 12).
1. Green Bay Packers (13-1).
They were due. And they do not want to play the Giants again, either.
2. San Francisco 49ers (11-3).
Nor do they.
3. New England Patriots (11-3).
They are right where I thought they would be. They’ll split their last two games and finish 12-4 just as I predicted.
4. New Orleans Saints (11-3).
ONE AND DONE, I SWEAR.
5. Baltimore Ravens (10-4).
They got destroyed, yes, but the Bolts do not lose in December.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4).
They are going to regret not resting Roethlisberger in Week 15, particularly after seeing Baltimore lose. Roethlisberger will not be healthy for the Wild Card game, which the Steelers will most likely be resigned to playing in three weeks.
7. Houston Texans (10-4).
When your fate rests on the arm of TJ Yates and Ewing Theory Andre Johnson… I dunno, man.
8. Atlanta Falcons (9-5).
Wait for it…
9. Detroit Lions (9-5).
The Lions needed the win in Oakland, because they may very well lose their final two games.
10. Cincinnati Bengals (8-6).
They’re still alive, thanks to a “did what they had to do” win in Week 15.
11. Denver Broncos (8-6).
Where’s Tebow now?
12. Dallas Cowboys (8-6).
They still haven’t beaten anyone worthwhile since their fans came out of the woodwork six weeks ago. The one even AVERAGE team they have played (Giants) during that stretch, they lost to. Yet their fans act like these are the 1993 Cowboys.
13. San Diego Chargers (7-7).
San Di-e-go Super CHARRRRRRRRGERS… SAN DI-E-GO… CHARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGERS!!!
14. New York Jets (8-6).
15. New York Football Giants (7-7).
16. Seattle Seahawks (7-7).
The Seabags can literally (no pun intended, BTW) swoop in and steal the Wild Card spot away from the same Bears team they just beat, as well as the Lions and Cards. NO NFC EAST TEAM CAN SECURE A WILD CARD SPOT (Eagles fans, are you listening? Because you’re not winning the division).
17. Arizona Cardinals (7-7).
18. Oakland Raiders (7-7).
John Madden never had teams that choked this badly, just saying.
19. Tennessee Titans (7-7).
It was a nice run, boys, especially since I picked you to win all of 5 games this year.
20. Chicago Bears (7-7).
Forte is not coming back, nor is Cutler. NOR IS MIKE MARTZ AFTER THE SEASON. Right on course to lose out, as predicted. Their fans have gone into hiding like mob informants at Fed time since those guys got hurt. 7-3 to finishing 7-9. TOO BAD.
21. Kansas City Chiefs (6-8).
The Chiefs can still win the AFC West, but won’t.
22. Carolina Panthers (5-9).
Just imagine if Cam hadn’t turned the ball over as much as Philip Rivers this year? They’d be 9-5 at the very least.
23. Washington Redskins (5-9).
They got screwed over by the refs in Week 14, and took it out on the Giants in Week 15.
24. Miami Dolphins (5-9).
I’m still trying to make sense of the timing of the firing of Tony Sparano.
25. Philadelphia Eagles (6-8).
It’s all a mirage.
26. Buffalo Bills (5-9).
They are who we thought they were.
27. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-10).
Let’s see if Turner can get the job and turn the team around next year. If he’s ultra-conservative like Del Rio, he won’t last.
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-10).
If the Bucs don’t fire Morris, it will be because they’re too lazy to find another coach. They didn’t spend anything in free agency and did they not let Barrett Ruud, their best LB go, or am I missing something?
29. Cleveland Browns (4-10).
I forgot, that with my preseason predictions, that Pat Shurmur was so underqualified to be an NFL Head Coach at this juncture. His philosophy and coaching style have cost the Browns a half dozen games.
30. Minnesota Vikings (2-12).
Their worst season ever. Literally.
31. St. Louis Rams (2-12).
I am reading that Spagnuolo will be fired and McDaniels is going to Kansas City to rejoin his New England Cheats Triumvirates in Pioli and Crennel.
32. Indianapolis Colts (1-13).
I actually wanted them to go 0-16, for the story next year, but whatever.
