2010 NFL Fantasy Football (League #2 – “No Pink Jerseys” – No Homo)

M.D. Wright

Okay, this was a last minute league, as I was invited by young Melissa “Cash Money” Cashen. Since no one was present for the online draft, I basically had free reign to choose who I wanted.

Of course I still screwed up when I got greedy by taking both Aaron Rodgers AND Philip Rivers (who have simultaneous BYE weeks), so I am going to need to trade, however, I made out even better than in my first draft in the other league.

QB – Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

No reason why he won’t duplicate the numbers he had last year.

QB – Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

There are doubts, because LT Marcus McNeill and WR Vincent Jackson are not sure fire bets to be with the team this season. But provided they are, and the Chargers hoping that their rookie RB Mathews can take the bulk of the carries, the Chargers should be the same most-potent offense in the AFC.

WR – Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions

Calvin is due for a mega (no pun) year. Stafford is going to make the leap, RB Kevin Smith is going to be healthy and TE Brandon Pettigrew is going to be Stafford’s other favorite target along with WR Nate Burleson. I wanted him in another league, but some guy got to him before I did (pause).

WR – Steve Smith, New York Football Giants

Steve-12. I dunno if he’ll 100 catches or 1200 yards again, but I think he’ll be pretty darn close.

WR – Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

I’m banking on someone even being able to get him the ball, of course.

WR – Anquan Boldin, Baltimore Ravens

He DOES have someone to get him the ball, and defenses focusing on RB Ray Rice and WR Donte Stallworth downfield will only make things easier for Q (FROM?!?!?!) in the slot.

RB – Steven Jackson, St. Louis Rams

As safe of a pick as there is.

RB – Brandon Jacobs, New York Football Giants

Jacobs is going to get 1,100 and 12-15 TDs. BOOK IT.

RB – Ricky Williams, Miami Dolphins

In his swan song season. Last year he amassed 1,100 yards and 11 TDs. I’m hopeful he does it again.

RB – Knowshon Moreno, Denver Broncos

Hopefully teams don’t stack the box as they did at times once Orton’s deal with the devil expired, but I think young Knowshon (FROM?!?!?BELMARNEWJERSEY) will do well.

TE – Visanthe Shiancoe, Minnesota Vikings

Shank gets me tight. He gets all these TDs with Favre, but he couldn’t catch as pass with us. Just duplicate last season, please sir.

TE – Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders

Quietly one of the best TEs in the NFL.

W/R – Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys

Love having the flexibility to bring him in whenever I want to, but not risking Romo falling in love with Austin and Witten to the detriment of Bryant’s development/taking Roy Williams’ starting X job by Week 5.

W/R – Jacoby Jones, Houston Texans

Will benefit from the double teams on WR Andre Johnson.

RB – CJ Spiller, Buffalo Bills

I think young Clifford will see carries with Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch not at 100%.

RB – Carnell Williams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

He’s moving like a vintage 225 these days, but he did show flashes. A safe pick.

RB – LaDainian Tomlinson, New York Jets

Will get 150+ carries and probably 50-60 catches, and still about 12-14 TDs. He will be starting for me if Moreno struggles.

TE – Kevin Boss, New York Football Giants

Boss is our starting TE and we all say “Boss needs to get lower, he can’t keep taking all these square hits”, but I think Eli looks for him just as much as he does Steve-12.

K – Ryan Longwell, Minnesota Vikings

This is all predicated upon the notion that Favre plays and the Vikes score 31 PPG.

New York Football Giants

Regardless of what the preseason has shown, we’re back.

Green Bay Packers

One of the best defenses around last year.

S – Adrian Wilson, Arizona Cardinals

Best SS in football that no one knows. I feel good about him.

LB/DE – Andre Carter, Washington Redskins

I’m taking him in every league if I can.

CB – Mike Jenkins, Dallas Cowboys

How he lasted this long (pause) is beyond me.

LB – London Fletcher, Washington Redskins

100 fantasy tackles, and he lasted until about the 10th (round) pick?

DT – Darnell Dockett, Arizona Cardinals

And he went 9th? Thank God for autopick ha. I tried to get Dockett in my other league.

CB – Charles Woodson, Green Bay Packers

S – Jairus Byrd, Buffalo Bills

Yeah, he ended last season injured, but he DID lead the NFL in picks.

CB – Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Arizona Cardinals

DRC is on my BENCH. Enough said about the rest of my team.

CB – Asante Samuel, Philadelphia Eagles

I hate the Iggles. You know this. I know this. Scoot Moone knows this. But numbers don’t lie. Samuel can cover in his sleep.
